Hey RM fam,
If you know me then you’d know I love some Joyce Meyer. Her teachings on the word have had a great impact on my life.
As well as her teachings, sermons and conferences, Joyce is a great writer and has a LOT of books covering so many subjects. My husband would tell you that I have Joyce Meyer books all over our house! I love reading them alongside the bible to enable me to dig a little deeper in the word. Having said that, there are 3 that I always go back to and re read. These are books that I have highlighted and made notes in, books that have blessed me in so many seasons.
The Confident Woman
If I can recall, this was the first book I read from Meyer back in 2014 and even before I became a Christian. Over the years I don’t know how many times I have recommended this to other women. This is a book that will forever stay well-loved on my shelves.
Whether you are new in your faith or walked with God for many years, whether you are a student or professional, young or old I recommend you giving this a read!
Battlefield Of The Mind
Joyce Meyer is well known for this book and even has a Battlefield of the Mind Bible which many of my friends have and love. Her teachings based on this book are superb too.
Meyer highlights throughout the theme of the book that our thoughts can have so much power and influence over our life; that they can make or break us. There is so much power in having the right mind-set especially for Christians. If we are not careful and conscious of this fact and learn to align our mind to Gods word every day, the enemy can attack our mind-set and fill it with deceiving manipulative thoughts.
This is a great book to look into the bible with. I would also highly recommend reading with others in a small group setting.
Do yourself a favour, forgive
I don’t know how well known this book is, but I always go back to as there are so many golden nugget reminders in the pages which are great for a heart/attitude check.
Forgiveness is something I have struggled with for most of my life. When I became a Christian I knew this was an area of my life I really had to invest in and work on. I know this book may be challenging to read for some folk as it will encourage you to do a reality and attitude check on yourself. Which is exactly why I had to mention this one on the list.
The Holy Spirit was tugging on my heart to forgive when I really really didn’t want to. I soon realised that in order for me to go into all the goodness and plans God has for me I had to leave some baggage and heaviness behind. Meyer goes through key biblical points on what forgiveness is, why it is important to forgive and also the benefits/effects that forgiving can truly do for you.
The bible talks a lot about forgiveness, and it is great to see Meyer share these points as well as some of her experiences in this book. If forgiveness is an area in your life that you are struggling with, I whole heartedly recommend going into the word (look at stories/scripture that relates to forgiving) and use this book as a companion. It has blessed me tremendously and continues to do so.
If you are an avid reader of Joyce Meyer books also, I would love to know some of your favourites – leave them down below!
