WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR? THANKSGIVING 2019

Hey RM fam,

Families all across the US are gathering together this week to celebrate thanksgiving. Since I was a kid I’ve always loved the idea of that holiday and do wish we celebrated this holiday in the UK!

I love the idea of families travelling from state to state to be together and gather around a meal. This is also a time for them to reflect on what they are thankful for.

So let me ask you dear reader: what are you thankful for?

For some of us, this might be challenging to answer, especially if we are in a tough season.

I suppose that is why I am fond of this holiday – it gives us time to appreciate what we have instead of what we don’t have.

Thankfulness is a prominent bible theme:

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV)

1 Thessalonians 5:18 even mentions that we are to be thankful in all circumstances.

There are so many precious moments/things that we tend to overlook. Its the little things in life that truly can be the biggest blessing. I suppose we live in such a materialistic, image driven technological world that society doesn’t see this to be the case anymore.

As it is thanksgiving season, why not take some time this weekend to reflect/journal what you are thankful for. Take some time out this weekend: go for a walk, spend some time in a cosy café and take a look at what you are grateful for in your life.

In a day where society drives into us all what we need and what we should aspire to get; let’s not forget about the things we DO have.

I’m away to journal and reflect on my thankfulness. What are you thankful for? It can be the smallest things but give them a shoutout!

And for those who celebrate the thanksgiving holidays – hope you have the loveliest thanksgiving with your fam!
