Hey RM fam,

I had such a lovely time in London with my husband for his birthday – we rested, met up with some friends, spent quality time together and ate a LOT.  I thought instead of sharing a bunch of pictures which highlighted the weekend I would share what was on my heart from that trip which might bless or encourage someone.

On the Saturday night for Rob’s birthday, we went over the London skyline via Emirates Airline. I’m slightly iffy with heights but pushed past that fear as I knew the views would be amazing! And it really was. It was beautiful seeing the lights of the city. We already had an amazing day.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Rob all of a sudden began listing things that he loved about me and what he was proud of me for. I have been trying for a few days, but I cant really put into words how that moment felt. It was a night that I wont forget; the love and moment of pure joy being with him.

This is what God wants to give us. He wants us to know just how cherished we are. He wants to spend quality time with us. He wants the best for us and for us to feel joy with Him.

It’s truly moments like the one I had with Rob that evening that point me back to God’s agape, overflowing love. A love that even though I didn’t deserve, has been given to me through grace.

Moments like those are a testament to me that trusting God with your relationship is best because HE knows what is best for you. When we trust Him – blessings follow as we go into His will for our lives.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD And whose trust is the LORD.” (Jeremiah 17:7)

Trusting God involves having faith in Him and submitting over every aspect of our life. I will admit that it has not been easy, every day involves submission, such as submitting my marriage over to God.

I used to think I knew what I wanted in a relationship, what was best for me (boy was I WAY off! I’m glad I did not receive what I thought I wanted!!) God not only surpassed my expectations, but He gave me a purpose and life partner. He blessed me with a relationship that points to Him and keeps Him as the focus.

Trusting God with my spouse was the best choice looking back, if I didn’t trust God and wait for His best for me I would not have experienced moments like that evening.

For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” (Romans 10:11)

Stay encouraged in your walk with God. A Christ centred marriage is worth the wait, unlike anything you’d imagine and worth fighting for.

  1. Amen sister, we might not always understand the wait but the outcome is so worth it. This was the same with my husband and I. So glad I trusted God.

    • Hey G! Thanks for reading 🙂 you’re right. I hear this a lot “one does not regret trusting God” and I agree with that. Hope you’re well x

  2. Glad you both had a lovely time dear!
And what a beautiful moment to share, indeed a Godly marriage should point back to the Father. We got told that in our pre marital counselling.
